A common journey planning system should incorporate features & functions for people with cognitive disabilities to travel more independently throughout a city vs being dependent on more traditional alternative modes of transportation like paratransit. Features might include easier to understand navigation, more verbal prompts and visual guides as well as confirmation of Origin & Destination to the individuals care-giver and other designated interested parties the individual (and/or the caregiver) so chooses. This should be done in one MaaS / MOD platform vs a separate application. Create a seamless, equal experience for all. This creates a win/win; less dependence on a very costly public transit service (like paratransit) and enables more independence and access to opportunities & services.
