This Panel will highlight opportunities and needs in the design of vehicles – both conventional and emerging automated vehicle concepts – to expand mobility access and availability to individuals with disabilities. It will focus on the needs of people with disabilities in terms of vehicle design and engineering, work within the automotive and technology industries to meet these needs (particularly through emerging automated vehicle designs), and DOT initiatives to identify needs, gaps, best practices, opportunities, and standards.
During this stage, participants submit ideas, comments and votes.
In this stage, ideas, comments and votes will be reviewed by DOT's accessible transportation subject matter experts. Input will be considered when drafting DOT's Accessibility Strategic Plan.
In this stage, the Framework is shared with dialogue participants.
